The Blizzard defeat the WarHawks 6-4

Kyle Hayden came up big, stopping 30 of 34 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Ryan Worley.

Logan Nelson delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Brett Meister had a busy night with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). Eli Slagter chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Riley Dixon did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the second period, Behl opened the scoring for Alexandria with a goal at 4:27 with helpers from his linemates, Hermann and Lindgren. Dixon quickly followed with a goal at 4:51 with helpers from Slagter and Koester. Payne answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 12:32 with assists from his linemates, Giorgio and Nelson. Nelson netted a goal at 15:13 with assists from his linemates, Payne and Meister. Meister quickly followed with a goal at 16:44 with helpers from teammates Frerichs and Miner. Cooper answered for the WarHawks with a goal at 19:14 with assists from Oelkers and Koester.

During the third period, Holt deposited a goal at 5:08 with helpers from Shea and Toll. Worley quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:48 with assists from his linemates, Frerichs and Meister. Slagter answered for Willmar with a goal at 9:24 with helpers from his linemates, Bolstad and Dixon. Nelson answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 17:02 with assists from Giorgio and Mellstrom.

Alexandria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hayden’s big night as he stopped 30 of the 34 shots he faced. Hayden’s counterpart, Ericson, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (25-13-0-1).
