Garrett Skinner was all over the ice for the xAlexandria Blizzard, as he tallied two goals in xAlexandria\’s 5-0 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.
Skinner found the back of the net on the power play 18:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xAlexandria and again while on the power play 6:05 into the second to make the score 4-0 xAlexandria.
The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. xAlexandria forced Breezy Point goalie Joey Bergquist to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.
xAlexandria also had goals scored by Joe Anderson, Ethan Luck, and Aaron Ryback, who each put in one. More assists for xAlexandria came via Ian Ecklund, who had three, Zach Kihle, Nate Mettenburg, and Evan Bisek, who each chipped in one, and Nick Nitta and Mitch Krafcheck, who contributed two a piece.
The North Stars could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Breezy Point averages 2.3 goals per game. The North Stars struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Blizzard to score two power play goals on three chances.
Evan Bisek made 21 saves for xAlexandria on 21 shots. The Blizzard ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. Bergquist recorded 31 saves for Breezy Point. The North Stars ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
