Randall’s big game bests Pittsburgh in 5-3 Alexandria win

Behind a great game by Jody Randall, who had two goals and two assists, the Alexandria Blizzard defeated the Pittsburgh Vengeance, 5-3.

Randall\’s tallies came on the power play at 13:16 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alexandria and 9:07 into the third to make the score 4-2 Alexandria.

Alexandria\’s offense rang up 42 shots on Pittsburgh\’s net.

Alexandria additionally got points from Nate Mettenburg, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Alexandria also had goals scored by Tom Monteiro and Tyler Sworsky, who scored one goal each. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Logan Norman, Tom Schmidt, Bo Gronseth, Gavin Mindt, Aaron Randall, and Aaron Ryback, who contributed one each.

The Vengeance kept the Blizzard\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Elmore made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Alexandria incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jacob Stack rejected 37 shots on goal for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
