Blizzard score 8 goals vs the Loons for their 10th straight victory and move into sole possession of 2nd place in the west!

Ashton Collings wasted no time getting the Blizzard on the board with a great pass from Aiden Prochaska to put the Blizzard up 1-0 just over a minute into the game with Grady Nygaard getting the other helper. While the Blizzard were dominating play, it wasn’t until the 12:22 mark that Justin Wasvick netted his 18th of the season on a power play to double the Blizzards lead with Markus Olson and Matt Scribner getting the assists. Following the theme of the first period, Markus Olson beat Jansen for an opening minute goal with Joe Gronholz and Aiden Prochaska earning the assists. The Blizzard continued to pepper Jansen with Reece Hubmer once again taking advantage of a power play opportunity making it 4-0 Blizzard on a play from Ashton Collings and Bazl Cook.

It wasn’t until 5 minutes into the third that the MN Loons showed any sign of life and with two quick goals changed the atmosphere in the RCC. Serino was able to beat Serene at the 4:58 mark and shortly after Launderville batted one in at the 6:00 mark cutting the Blizzard lead in half. The scare from the Loons was short lived as Joe Gronholz added two goals of his own just 36 seconds apart to regain a 4 goal lead. His first at the 8:38 mark came on a play from the speedy Tyler Kludt and Markus Olson with Tyler also earning an assist on the second Gronholz goal and Aiden Prochaska picking up a helper. With the Blizzard short handed just over half way through the third period, Parker Anthony beat Jansen once again for the short handed goal coming from Jack Carter and Aiden Prochaska. Keeping the top scorer chase going, Eli Fletcher netted one of his own on a power play at the 13:44 mark, his 20th of the season on a play from Kludt and Gronholz.

With the Wednesday night win, the Blizzard moved into sole possession of 2nd place in the west division and face the MN Loons again Friday night in Breezy Point. Shots on goal were 62 to 15 in favor of the Blizzard with Jayden Serene earning the victory.
