BLIZZARD DROP THRILLER IN GRANITE, WIN IN WILLMAR

The Blizzard made the short trip to Granite City with Grady Stallman remaining hot with his 11th goal of the season coming on a power play at the 6:43 mark of the 1st on a play from Waller and Schmit. The Jacks bounced back in the 2nd period with goals from Dhein and Tiernan to take a 2-1 lead into the 3rd. Caleb Waller scored his 7th of the year midway through the 3rd with Schmit earning the lone assist. It wasn’t until the final minutes that Granite was able to net the game winner with a goal from Kusch to take the win. Jayden Serene stopped 27 of 30 in the loss.

Remaining on the road Saturday, the Blizzard remained close to home traveling to Willmar. Landyn Randt netted his 1st of the season at the 13:42 mark of the 1st on a play from Schmit. It wasn’t unit the midway point of the 2nd until either team could produce any offense this time with Willmar tying the game at 1-1 on a Hogan goal. With a late power play chance in the 3rd, Caleb Waller netted his 8th of the season coming from Stallman and Schmit for the game winner. Jayden Serene got the victory stopping 37 of 38 shots.
