The Blizzard remained perfect against the Loons this year with their 6-3 victory on Wednesday night.
Wyatt Johnson was the star of the show with a Hat Trick and Alex Lamont earned his 11th win of the season in net. This game went back and forth up until the midway point of the 2nd period. Johnson brought the Blizzard back twice in the 1st period with his 5th and 6th of the year. Matt McIntyre gave the Blizzard a brief lead at 3-2 early in the 2nd and then Joe Gronholz gave the Blizzard the lead for good at 4-3 in the 11th minute of the 2nd period off a beautiful back door feed from Jack Whitmore. Sean Kenny increased the lead to 5-3 in the 3rd and then a half minute later Johnson capped off the night with his Hat Trick. The line of Ryan Hadland, Matt McIntyre and Sean Kenny each had 3 point nights.
Alexandria (24-9-0-2 – 50 pts) will host the Warhawks on Friday at 7:10 before traveling to the Loons on Saturday for a 7:30 start.
