BLIZZARD BEAT LOONS 6-2

Alexandria continued their strong start to the season with a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Loons on Wednesday night at the RCC.

Jack Carter opened up the scoring for the Blizzard just :48 seconds into the game. It was Carter’s 1st Junior Hockey goal with assists from Michael DeBrito and Sean Kenny. Caleb Moore scored a couple minutes later off a rebound shot from Carter Salo. Wyatt Johnson picked up the 2nd assist. Justin Wasvick put the Blizzard up 3-0 midway through the period with his 2nd of the season off assists from Ethan Moerke and Wyatt Johnson. Seven minutes into the 2nd period, Cole Klingbeil picked off a Loons pass in the offensive zone and buried his 9th of the year to extend the Blizzard lead to 4-0. Minnesota came back with two goals and trailed 4-2 late in the game, when Klingbeil struck twice to ice the game away. It was Klingbeil’s 2nd Hat Trick this year and 10th goal in his past 4 games. Alex Lamont improved to 2-1 with a 19 save performance.
