Alexandria survives Breezy Point comeback, wins 6-4

The Breezy Point North Stars tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Alexandria Blizzard would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

Alexandria took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have Breezy Point storm back on a Felix Conrads goal 19:06 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Blizzard were helped by Tom Schmidt, who finished with three goals and one assist. Alexandria additionally got points from Tyler Sworsky, who also registered one goal and three assists and Bo Gronseth, who also had one goal and one assist. Gavin Mindt also scored for Alexandria. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Jody Randall, who had two and Trent Olson, Alex Spielvogel, Christian Canavati, and Nate Mettenburg, who each chipped in one.

Alexandria was unable to stop the North Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and Breezy Point eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Breezy Point also had goals scored by Linder Kenyon, Ryan Herbert, and Blake Neumann, who scored one goal each. More assists for Breezy Point came via Crosby Steen, Brooke Evans, and Joe Costello, who contributed one each.

Tanner Elmore made 36 saves for the Blizzard on 40 shots. Alexandria incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Dakota McDonald rejected 23 shots on goal for the North Stars. Breezy Point totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play.
