Alexandria had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-4 win over Rochester.
Alexandria got the win behind a great game by Tyler Frischmon, who had two goals and one assist. Frischmon scored the first of his two goals at 4:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. AJ Gullickson picked up the assist. Frischmon\’s next tally made the score 2-1 Alexandria with 11:34 left in the first period. Logan Nelson provided the assist.
Rochester was unable to stop Alexandria from sending pucks towards the net, and Alexandria eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Alexandria surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Alexandria averages 3.1 goals per contest. Alexandria could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.
Alexandria additionally got points from Jack Cernohous, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Alexandria also got a goal from Aaron Ryback as well. More assists for Alexandria came via Louis Gerzin and Alec Seeger, who contributed one each and Trent Olson and Tony Arias, who each chipped in two.
Rochester\’s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Rochester finished with 30 penalty minutes. Rochester had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 12 chances. Rochester\’s defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
