BIG Overtime Win!

Jan 26, 2011

The Alexandria Blizzard welcomed first-place Owatonna to town last night and sent the Express home with a 3-2 loss in overtime.

Michael Pieper and Tucker Coborn each scored goals for Alexandria in regulation as the two teams skated to a 2-2 tie through three periods. It didn't take long for the Blizzard to end things in the extra session. Leading scorer Nardo Nagtzaam connected for his 21st goal of the season just 27 seconds in to send his team off a winner.

Alexandria controlled the pace of play for all three periods, outshooting the Express 38-23. Jake Williams got the win in net for the Blizzard with 21 saves.

Alexandria reached the 40-point mark with the win as it moved to 18-15-4 on the season. The Blizzard are in Bismarck for two games this weekend on Friday and Saturday night.
