Monday the Blizzard started the Showcase with a 4-0 shutout over the Long Beach Sharks. Ryan Hadland and Sean Kenny each scored twice. Hadland added a 3rd point on Kenny’s second goal. Matt McIntyre and Ben Tshcida each picked up assists while Bailey Rosch stopped all 13 shots for the shutout.
Tuesday saw the Blizzard take on a one loss Texas Roadrunner team and come away with a 5-2 victory. This game was close tied 1-1 until late in the 2nd when Justin Wasvick scored on a wrap around and then the Blizzard opened it up early 3rd period with three goals in the first six minutes. Kaden Peterson, Alex Heidenreich and Sean Kenny scored the goals to put the game out of reach. Colby Nickel scored in the 1st period to give the Blizzard an early lead. Cole Klingbeil and Wasvick had multi point games and Joey Greilich made 21 of 23 saves for the victory in net.
Wednesday the Blizzard game out and built a 3-0 lead against Wausau and then had to come through late for the 5-3 victory. Ethan Moerke, and Justin Wasvick and Kaden Peterson staked the Blizzard to a 3-0 lead, then Cole Klingbeil and Zach DeMarce each scored in the final two minutes for the victory. Bailey Rosch had 25 saves and Justin Wasvick had a 3 points game. Erick Sanborn and Ethan Moerke had multi point games.
