xAlexandria beats Breezy Point 5-3 as Anderson gets hat trick

Joe Anderson lifted the xAlexandria Blizzard to a 5-3 victory with a hat trick against the Breezy Point North Stars.

Anderson\’s first goal came 3:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:16 into the first and at 4:24 into the second.

xAlexandria also got points from Bo Gronseth, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Drake Hunter also scored for xAlexandria. In addition, xAlexandria received assists from Mick Dhein and Jody Randall, who each chipped in one and Trent Olson and Garrett Skinner, who contributed two a piece.

Breezy Point stifled xAlexandria\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The North Stars were helped by Chris Hjorth, who tallied one goal. Hjorth scored on the power play 14:02 into the second period to make the score 4-3 xAlexandria. A slashing penalty on Tom Schmidt had put Breezy Point on the power play. Blair Seitz assisted on the tally. Breezy Point additionally got points from Crosby Steen, who also registered one goal and one assist and Blake Neumann, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Breezy Point came via Bo Borowski, Benji Smieja, and Joe Laskero, who each chipped in one.

The Blizzard\’s Tanner Elmore stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. xAlexandria incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Joey Bergquist made 21 saves for the North Stars on 26 shots. Breezy Point incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
