Twin City holds on for 5-3 win against Alexandria

Alexandria tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Twin City held on for a 5-3 victory.

Twin City made the score 5-2 on a goal by Alex Egle at 12:28 in the third period, and Alexandria got as close as 5-3 when Tyler Frischmon scored 15:01 into the third period.

Twin City was led by James Hale, who finished with one goal. Hale scored on the power play 5:14 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Twin City. Twin City had gotten the advantage when Alexandria\’s Aaron Ryback was sent off for checking from behind. Paul Stehr provided the assist.

Twin City stifled Alexandria\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Twin City forced Alexandria goalie Evan Bisek to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Twin City also got points from Stehr, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ryan Hartzell, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Egle, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Twin City also got a goal from Luc Kreuser as well. In addition, Twin City received assists from Marc Sahli, who had two and Zak Lambrecht, Adam Vannelli, Jay Paul, and Bennett Witta, who each chipped in one.

Alexandria was helped by Tony Arias, who had one goal. Arias scored 4:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria. Ryback assisted on the tally. Dawson Ellingsworth also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Logan Norman, David Carey, Trey Greene, and AJ Gullickson, who contributed one each.

Jon Albers rejected 24 shots on goal for Twin City. Twin City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Evan Bisek made 31 saves for Alexandria on 36 shots. Alexandria incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
