Twin City beats Alexandria 4-2 after comeback scare

Alexandria tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Twin City held on for a 4-2 victory.

Twin City made the score 4-1 on a goal by Luc Kreuser at 1:30 in the third period, and Alexandria got as close as 4-2 when AJ Gullickson scored 5:23 into the third period.

Twin City kept Alexandria\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Derrick LaCombe made 27 saves on 31 shots. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Twin City was led by Jay Paul, who had one goal and one assist. Paul scored 17:35 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Twin City. Zak Lambrecht assisted on the tally. Twin City also got points from Lambrecht, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kreuser, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Twin City also got a goal from Nick McKeeby as well. In addition, Twin City received assists from Ben Hersman, Fritz Belisle, Jared Erickson, and Joe Costello, who each chipped in one.

Caleb Anderson also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Aaron Ryback, who had one and Tyler Frischmon, who had two.

Nathan Siclovan recorded 28 saves for Twin City. Twin City incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Alexandria incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
