The Blizzard defeat the Steel 5-4

Brady Meyers came up big, stopping 37 of 41 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Josiah Roen.

Josiah Roen chipped in with 2 goals and Brenden Payne contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Austin Langworthy had a busy night with 2 goals.

In the first, Johnson opened the scoring for the Steel with a goal at 10:38 with helpers from Parks and Mordini. Skar answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 15:58 with assists from Payne and Giorgio.

During the second period, Langworthy answered for New Ulm with a goal at 2:56 with helpers from his teammates Storlie and Kreuser. Reilly quickly followed with a goal at 4:07 with an assist from fellow Steel forward Coppock. Langworthy netted a goal at 9:07 with a helper from his linemate Nagel. Roen answered for Alexandria with a goal at 14:26 with assists from his linemates, Benson and Frerichs.

In the third, Meister put in a goal at 2:10. Payne scored a goal at 4:39 with helpers from Nelson and Skar. Roen netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:20.

The Blizzard’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Meyers’ big night as he stopped 37 of the 41 shots he faced. Meyers’ counterpart, Kenny, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (26-13-1-1).
