During the first, Dibari opened the scoring for Granite City with a goal at 0:28. Dahl netted a goal at 3:33 with helpers from teammates Bissett and Buhl. Baker deposited a goal at 12:28 with helpers from Bissett and Buhl. Johnson finally put Alexandria on the board with a goal at 18:22 with assists from Dahlseide and Nelson.
During the second, Altena answered for the Lumberjacks with a goal at 2:41 with a helper from his linemate Dibari. Payne answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 7:41 with assists from his linemates, Dahlseide and Meister.
In the third, Payne netted a goal at 0:20 with a helper from Meister. Nelson scored a goal at 11:32 with assists from Skar and Payne. Dahlseide put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:36 with a helper from fellow Blizzard forward Behl. Payne quickly followed with a goal at 19:00 with assists from Meister and Skar.
Alexandria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Meyers as he stopped 23 of the 27 shots he faced. Meyers’ counterpart, Bucklin, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 31, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (7-7-0-0).
