The Blizzard defeat the Freeze 5-3

Brady Meyers came up big, stopping 29 of 32 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Tanner Frerichs.

Logan Nelson had a busy night with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Brenden Payne chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Giorgio opened the scoring for Alexandria with a goal at 18:59 with helpers from teammates Miner and Tschida.

In the second period, Lindauer answered for the Freeze with a goal at 0:49 with a helper from defenseman De Schepper. Nelson quickly followed with a goal at 1:58 with assists from his linemates, Payne and Giorgio. Seeger quickly followed with a goal at 3:12 with a helper from Francois. Payne answered for Alexandria with a goal at 6:30 with assists from Johnson and Nelson. Frerichs deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:23 with helpers from his linemates, Meister and Roen. Scanlon netted a goal at 18:53 with assists from his linemates, Worley and Thompson.

During the third, Garman answered for La Crosse with a goal at 6:08 with helpers from his linemates, Fondadouze and Nuutinen.

The Blizzard’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Meyers’ big night as he stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced. Meyers’ counterpart, Naidow, also had a big night, managing to stop 29 of 34, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (30-14-1-1).
