The Blizzard crushed the Lumberjacks 5-2

Brady Meyers came up big, stopping 26 of 28 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead early in the third on a goal from Ryan Worley.

Jack Westlund did his part, adding 2 goals. Tom Nagle had a busy night with 2 assists.

In the second period, Poliseno opened the scoring for Alexandria with a goal at 5:54 with helpers from his teammates Dropik and Dahlseide. Schwehr finally put the Lumberjacks on the board with a goal at 12:25 with assists from Sommers and Nagle.

In the third period, Westlund answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 1:05 with a helper from defenseman Mellstrom. Worley scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:11 with assists from his linemates, Frerichs and Benson. Westlund quickly followed with a goal at 4:59 with helpers from his linemates, Roen and Payne. Troumbly answered for Granite City with a goal at 13:24 with assists from Nagle and Bissett. Nelson answered for Alexandria with a goal at 19:37 with a helper from fellow Blizzard forward Carey.

Alexandria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Meyers’ big night as he stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced. Meyers’ counterpart, Mulligan, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 39, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (6-5-0-0).
