The Blizzard crushed the Ice Hawks 7-3

The Alexandria Blizzard's offense had a big night, peppering the Rochester Ice Hawks with 59 shots throughout the game. The Alexandria Blizzard took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Riley Scanlon.

Logan Nelson contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Brett Meister delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Josh Hoffman did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Evan Burke had a busy night with 2 assists.

In the first period, Stokes opened the scoring for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 1:55 with helpers from his linemates, Hoffman and Burke. Frerichs answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 5:26 with helpers from teammates Meister and Johnson. Skar deposited a goal at 13:26 with assists from Nelson and Giorgio.

During the second, Nelson netted a goal at 6:39 with helpers from his linemates, Frerichs and Giorgio. Scanlon quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:24 with an assist from Meyers. Meister deposited a goal at 14:29 with helpers from Sanborn and Payne. Pahl answered for Rochester with a goal at 18:39 with assists from his linemates, Albano and Burke.

In the third, Nelson answered for Alexandria with a goal at 0:09 with helpers from Johnson and Skar. Hoffman answered for the Ice Hawks with a goal at 4:23 with assists from Dulong and Bucklin. Meister answered for the Blizzard with a goal at 7:54 with helpers from his linemates, Payne and Frerichs.

Alexandria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Meyers as he stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced. Meyers’ counterpart, Bucklin, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 59, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Alexandria Blizzard’s record to (21-13-0-1).
