Early goals doom Breezy Point, falls to Alexandria, 10-0

The Breezy Point North Stars fell behind early, and the Alexandria Blizzard kept piling on the points on the way to a 10-0 victory.

Aaron Ryback was all over the ice for Alexandria, as he tallied five goals and one assist in the win. Ryback got on the scoresheet 3:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:15 into the first, at 19:15 into the second, at 4:59 into the third, and at 19:26 into the third.

Breezy Point\’s seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the North Stars let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Alexandria\’s offense rang up 34 shots on Breezy Point\’s net. The Blizzard found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Alexandria averages 4.9 goals per game. The Blizzard could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 33 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alexandria also got points from Ian Ecklund, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Joe Anderson, who also tallied two goals and two assists, and Jordan Kraabel, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Mick Dhein also scored for Alexandria. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Bo Gronseth, who had two, Garrett Skinner, who had seven, and Trent Olson, Danny Pelzer, Tyler Sworsky, and Nate Mettenburg, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Breezy Point puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game.

Tanner Elmore rejected 20 shots on goal for Alexandria. Joey Bergquist recorded 24 saves for the North Stars. Breezy Point ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
