BLIZZARD TAKE CARE OF WILLMAR

Alexandria made a trip to Willmar on Wednesday night for a final tune up before the Showcase and extended their win streak to 3 in a row with a 7-3 victory.

Ethan Moerke continued the Blizzard fast starts as of late with his 7th of the season a minute and a half into the game. Joe Gronholz and Aidan Prochaska got the assists. Ryan Hadland scored his team leading 18th of the year to put them up 2-0 two minutes later. Towards the end of the 1st  Moerke scored his 2nd of the period with another assist from Gronholz and Justin Wasvick made it 4-1 after one with an assist from Logan Lukasezck on his 5th of the season. The Blizzard erupted for 3 more goals within :90 seconds to make it 7-2 midway through the game. Sean Kenny scored his 7th of the season on the power play. Matt McIntyre back in the lineup after two months picked up his 2nd of the year with assists from Lukasezck and Prochaska. Jack Carter capped off the scoring with his 3rd of season off assists from Wyatt Johnson and Bazl Cook. Kyle Abrahamson made 26 saves to improve his record to 7-3-0-1.

Alexandria (14-5-0-1 – 29 pts) is on to the Twin Cities for the Showcase in Blaine. They play the Texas Brahmas Sunday the 18th at 5:45 pm on Rink 4. The Norwich Sea Captains Monday the 19th at 6:15 pm on Rink 3, and the reigning Fraser Cup Champions Rochester Grizzlies Tuesday the 20th at 12:30 pm on Rink 2. Catch all the action on hockeytv.com
