Alexandria opened up their NA3HL Showcase schedule with a match up of the Southern Division’s Texas Brahmas, and the Blizzard answered the bell with a 7-2 victory.
Ryan Hadland continued to get the Blizzard a 1st period lead by putting in his own rebound on the power play for his team leading 19th of the season. Joe Gronholz and Matt McIntyre added 1st period goals for a 3-0 Blizzard lead after 20 minutes. Alexandria kept the intensity up in the 2nd period pouring in 4 more goals including 2 from Sean Kenny, one from Jayden Luck and Gronhol’s 2nd of the game. Kyle Abrahamson made some big saves when he had to stopping 13 of 15 to improve to 8-3-0-1.
Alexandria climbed a little closer to 1st place with Granite City losing to the other Texas team, the Roadrunners, and will play the Norwich Sea Captains tonight at 6:15 pm. Catch the action on hockeytv.com
