BLIZZARD WIN FRIDAY AND FALL IN OT SATURDAY
You didn’t want to miss the opening period of Fridays matchup between the Blizzard and the Wilderness with 5 goals being scored, 4 of which came from the Blizzard. Grady Stallman got the visiting team on the board first at the 16:07 mark with Waller getting the lone assist. Shortly after Caleb Waller netted his own from Randt for a quick 2 goal lead with the Wilderness cutting the lead in half at the 9:21 mark. Chase Collings regained the 2 goal lead on a play from Benson and Jack Johnson got on the board from Waller and Stallman to make it 4-1 at the end of the 1st period. Caleb Waller would add another quick goal in the 2nd period unassisted before the Wilderness netted two goals of their own to make it 5-3 Blizzard going into the 3rd. The teams skated to a scoreless 3rd with Jayden Serene making 36 of 39 saves on the win.
Saturdays contest was lower scoring with Zach Benson getting the Blizzard on the board first with Weir and Friborg earning the assists midway through the 1st. Caleb Waller continued the hot stick scoring at the 16:19 mark of the 2nd from Breiland and Stallman for a 2-0 lead that was erased in the 3rd period. The Wilderness netted two quick goals in the 3rd period from Maas and Starich to tie the game 2-2. At the 0:36 mark of overtime the Wilderness got the game winner with Serene stopping 49 of 52 shots in the OT loss.
