BLIZZARD DOMINATE PINK IN THE RINK NIGHT WHILE TRADESMEN BOUNCE BACK SATURDAY
The Alexandria Blizzard offense wasn’t scared to shoot the puck Friday night with a 64 to 25 shots on goal advantage which lead to their 6-2 victory over the Oregon Tradesmen. Ashton Collings got the Blizzard on the board at the 13:05 mark of the first with Sam Taylor and Matt McIntyre getting the helpers. Parker Anthony doubled up the lead at the 6:42 mark of the 2nd on a goal from Ashton Collings and Nolan LaCosse with the Tradesmen finally getting on the board at the 12:56 mark of the 2nd on a Bachtle goal. Tyler Kludt added another Blizzard goal late in the 2nd with Wasvick and LaCosse getting the assist. The Blizzard wasted no time in the 3rd with a goal from Karsten Senden only 20 seconds into the period with Caleb Waller adding another at the 2:33 mark of the 3rd. A few minutes later the Tradesmen were able to get one past LaCosse for their second goal of the night on a Larkee shot. Just over half way through the 3rd Caleb Waller added his second of the night to make it 6-2 Blizzard. LaCosse stopped 23 of 25 Tradesmen shots.
Saturdays rematch started with an early goal by Laggis of the Tradesmen with Matt McIntyre evening things up halfway through the period with Collings and Fotopoulos getting the helpers. In what was a choppy flow to the game with whistles and penalties, the only offense coming from the 2nd period was a Tradesmen goal from Crouch with the Tradesmen adding another goal at the 16:48 mark of the 3rd on a Molstad goal. Saturdays game had a combined 15 power plays with the Blizzard having a 36 to 22 shots on goal advantage.
The Blizzard have a few weeks of road games coming up with the MN Loons, Rochester Grizzlies and Granite City Lumberjacks. They return to the RCC November 18th to face the Willmar WarHawks.
