Oct 21, 2012

The Alexandria Blizzard split the weekend series with the Breezy Point North Stars despite outshooting them 89-55 over the weekend.

On Friday night the Blizzard got out to a 1-0 lead before surrendering 3 straight goals to the Stars.  Late in the 3rdJack Wensman tallied the Blizzard’s second goal of the game, but that was where the Blizzard stayed as they were unable to get the puck past Stars goalie Ian Shidlofsky with the extra attacker on the ice.

Saturday night the play continued to tilt toward Alexandria as they got up early and had a 4-1 lead over the Stars with goals being scored by Joe Anderson, Karson Kuntz, and two by Blizzard forward Ricky Seidel.  Breezy Point battled back with two late goals but Blizzard forward Tanner Duffney ended the run with the Blizzard’s 5thgoal of the night, and that is where the game ended with a 5-3 Alexandria Blizzard victory.

The Blizzard will travel to Vadnais Heights to take on the Twin City Steel this Saturday.  The Blizzard don’t return home until November 9thwhere they will look to avenge an earlier loss to the Granite City Lumberjacks.
