BLIZZARD EARN WIN AT HOME, COMEBACK FALLS SHORT IN GRANITE

The MN Loons were able to open the scoring Friday night at the RCC on a Moore goal at the 13:34 mark of the opening period but Alexandria’s Justin Wasvick tied the game roughly 4 minutes later on a goal from Ethan Boughton and Joe Gronholz. Tyler Kludt made it a quick start in the 2nd period as he found the back of the net just 52 seconds into the period on a goal from Gaborik Olson and Markus Olson. At the 18:39 mark of the 2nd, Eli Fletcher tallied his 12th of the season on a play from Justin Wasvick and Joe Gronholz to take a 2 goal lead but the Loons answered seconds later to make it a one goal game heading into the 3rd period on a Couture goal. Neither team was able to produce any offense in the 3rd and the Blizzard held on for the 3-2 win over the MN Loons outshooting the Loons 51 to 16. Jayden Serene stopped 14 of 16 and the Blizzard went 1/3 on the power play.
