BLIZZARD COMPLETE HOME SWEEP OF TOROS TO MAKE IT 8 STRAIGHT
The Blizzard welcomed the Mason City Toros to town for a weekend series this past Friday and Saturday. Friday night was military night which saw the Blizzard wearing special military themed jerseys. The first period belonged to the Toros as they scored twice, The Blizzard were able to get one back on a Caleb Waller goal. The rest of the night was all Alexandria as they netted five unanswered goals over the final 40 minutes of play. Eli Fletcher, Jack Carter, Mason Buchanan and Markus Olson all scored goals while Waller added his second of the game and the Blizzard picked up the 6-2 win. Kyle Abrahamson was terrific as he stopped 36 of 38 shots.
Saturday night saw the Blizzard extended their win streak to eight. The Blizzard got going early on a goal from Ashton Collings however the Toros would answer to tie the score at 1-1. After that it was all Alexandria again as 11 players were able to find their way onto the scoresheet. Eli Fletcher scored two goals, one being a highlight reel end to end rush. Easton Schmit, Markus Olson and Reece Hubmer added goals of their own as the Blizzard cruised to the 6-1 win and weekend sweep. Jayden Serene picked up the win in net stopping 28 of 29 shots.
