Blizzard Look to Spook the Wings

Oct 26, 2011

ALEXANDRIA, Minn.—The Alexandria Blizzard will host the Aberdeen wings on Friday and Saturday at the Runestone Community Center in an attempt to make it a 4-0 series against the wings.

On Friday, the RCC will host ‘Paint the Rink Pink’ night as the first 100 fans will receive t-shirts that help support Breast Cancer Awareness. The Blizzard will be wearing pink jerseys that they will auction off during the game.  All proceeds will go to the Douglas County Relay for Life.

On Saturday, The RCC will be frightful as it hosts its first Halloween Costume Contest at the community center. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes in the following categories; most unique, best pair or couple, scariest and best overall.

The bar is set high for the Blizzard as they plan to use practice, hard-work and a little bit of superstition to defeat the wings.

“I have to put all my gear on starting with my left going to my right and then nobody can touch my stick before the game,” said Blizzard forward Seth Ronsberg.

To catch the magic on the ice, Friday and Saturday’s face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
