Alexandria, MN- The NA3HL Alexandria Blizzard had a four game series last weekend at The Showcase in Blaine. They fought hard and walked away with three wins. The first team they played last weekend were the Metro Jets. The Blizzard were able to shut out the Jets with a score of 2-0. After their victory on Friday the Blizzard’ s next opponent were the St. Louis Junior Blues. The Blizzard put up a hard fight, but were defeated with a score of 4-1. After the defeat on Saturday this did not lower the spirits of the Blizzard. Instead on Sunday they played the Three Rivers Vengeance and the Blizzard defeated the Vengeance with a shut out again of 8-0. The final game of the series was against the Peoria Mustangs. The Blizzard were able to post another shut out over the mustangs with a score of 3-0. The weekend was a step in the right direction as they begin December.
Head Coach of the Blizzards Jeff Crouse had this to say. “The Highlights for the weekend were the goal tending done by Wilson and Miller who only gave four goals within the four games this last weekend.” The coach also added that having a great defense helped as well. The Blizzard are number one in the penalty killing in the league. This looks like a good season for the Blizzard the Coach also added that, “His four offensive lines had real depth, each were able to score on the ice this last weekend.”
The Blizzard have two home games this weekend against the Quad City Flames. Game time is 7pm both nights at the Runestone Community Center.
