STRONG 3RD PERIOD SATURDAY FORCES OT, BLIZZARD ON ROAD NEXT WEEKEND
Caleb Waller netted his 10th of the season early during Fridays Haunted Hockey matchup with the Granite City Lumberjacks but the Jacks racked up 3 goals of their own from Reiter and Sankey. Blake Breiland quickly responded to their 3rd goal with his 9th on the season from Roness and Hubmer for an action packed 1st period. Easton Schmit had an unassisted goal late in the second period to tie the game at 3 before Granite City scored 3 of their own in the 3rd to take the 6-3 victory over the Blizzard at the RCC. Serene stopped 29 of 35 shots.
Saturday had the teams at Miller Buick GMC Rink with Granite City netting the first goal roughly midway through the first with Landyn Randt answering with a short handed goal with Caden Vos and Zach Benson earning the assists. Granite took the lead late in the 1st and followed up with the lone goal in the middle period making it 3-1 Jacks. The Blizzard cut the lead in half midway through the 3rd on a Grady Stallman goal, his 12th of the year from Hubmer and Boughton. With 3:07 left in regulation Zach Benson tied the game at 3 with his first goal of the season and send the game to overtime. Granite netted the game winner at the 2:59 mark of OT with Serene stopping 33 of 37 shots.
