Saturday night the Blizzard traveled to Willmar to take on the Warhawks and came out on the wrong end of a back and forth  battle. Willmar owned much of the play in the 1st period outshooting the Blizzard 11-4 and staked themselves to a 2-0 lead. Alexandria came alive in the second though with Kaden Peterson scoring 5 minutes in and Austin McNeil scoring his 6th of season tying the game 2-2 at the 14:13 mark. Andrew Revering picked up his 6th assist on Peterson’s 2nd of the season. Willmar came back less than a minute later to reclaim the lead, but Dallas Duckson tied it back up at 3-3 on an assist from Kaden Peterson to set up another tense 3rd period. Willmar struck first scoring a power play goal on their first shift after a penalty was called against the Blizzard in the final minute of the second. The Blizzard responded nicely though when Duckson tied the game again two minutes later, and then Colin Tushie gave the Blizzard their first lead of the night at the 9:17 mark.
