The Alexandria Blizzard went on the road to battle the Willmar WarHawks defeating them 2-0 to spoil their home opener. After a scoreless first period, the Blizzard broke the ice with a goal from Ryan Hadland and the assist going to Cole Klingbeil in the penalty filled second period. The penalties continued in the third period when both teams had players hit the showers early with game misconducts/ejections for fighting. Ethan Moerke had the sole tally in the the third with an unassisted goal.
Kyle Abrahamson stopped all 34 shots faced earning the shutout. Shots on goal where 42 to 34 in favor of the Blizzard.
