Alexandria went into Willmar on Wednesday night looking up at the Warhawks in the Western Division standings and trying to snap a three game losing streak.
The Blizzard led 2-0 halfway through the game and then came through in a back and forth 3rd period with a 4-3 victory. Blaze Braswell scored both Blizzard goals late in the 1st period to give the Blizzard the start they needed. Willmar scored the lone goal in the 2nd period and then tied the game in the opening minute of the 3rd period. Alexandria responded though, Tyler Klingbeil scored his first Junior Hockey goal a minute later to put the Blizzard right back on top. Justin Wasvick and Ethan Moerke picked up the assists. Willmar had a quick answer of their own tying it right back within a minute of Klingbeil’s goal. Then with just over two minutes remaining Logan Lukasezck made a nice play to keep the puck in at the point then found Matt McIntyre at the left circle and McIntyre buried his 8th of the season for the game winner. Bailey Rosch made 39 saves to even his record at 2-2.
