The Alexandria Blizzard are on to the Fraser Cup Championship after a 3-2 victory over Oregon in the semi-finals on Saturday. The Blizzard will face the Granite City Lumberjacks in the championship on Sunday at 3 pm.
Hayden Demars gave the Blizzard a 1-0 lead with a power play goal in the 1st period. Wyatt Johnson and Sean Kenny assisted on Demars’s 1st tournament goal. Ryan Hadland added his 3rd tournament goal a couple minutes later for a 2-0 lead. Oregon came back with 2 goals in the 2nd period before Calvin Knight reclaimed the lead for the Blizzard with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd period. Konrad Kausch withstood ten shots in the 3rd to preserve the lead for the Blizzard and send them to their first ever Fraser Cup Championship game.
