BLIZZARD BACK IN WIN COLUMN

Thursday night the Blizzard traveled to play the Loons and came away with a 5-2 victory. The Blizzard came out firing unloading 20 shots on net in the 1st period and led 2-0 after twenty minutes. Cole Klingbeil scored :23 seconds into the game with assists from Erick Sanborn and Ethan Moerke. Justin Wasvick scored six minutes later on the power play from Moerke and Ashton Collings. The Loons got on the board in the second but Charlie Larsen scored a highlight reel goal on the power play midway through for a 3-1 lead. The Loons answered minutes later to set up a tense 3rd period. Blizzard draft pick Justin Kingery score midway through the 3rd in his debut to give the Blizzard a little breathing room and then Karsten Senden slammed the door with a power play goal in the final minute. Ryan Hadland and Ethan Moerke had multi-point nights and Hunter Chubb made 30 saves to stay perfect (3-0-0-0) on the season. Alexandria travels to New Ulm tonight and then hosts Granite City Saturday on Lake Country Meats Night.
