BLIZZ HAND GRANITE THIER FIRST LOSS

THE ALEXANDRIA BLIZZARD COMPLETE A WEEKEND SWEEP OVER GRANITE CITY AND THE MOOSE

The Blizzard traveled to Granite City for the first of two weekend road games on Friday night. After two periods the Blizzard found themselves down 3-0. The Blizzard got going midway through the third period on a goal from Easton Schmit assisted by Ashton Collings and Eli Fletcher. Markus Olson got an unassisted goal after a broken stick led to a breakaway. Ashton Collings tied the game a few minutes later with a rebound goal. John Dube completed the improbable when he scored the eventual game winning goal just a minute and a half later. All in all, the Blizzard would score 4 goals in just over 6 minutes in the 3rd period to secure the win. Kyle Abrahamson made 32 saves for the Blizzard.

Saturday night the Blizzard made their first trip to Blain Minnesota to take on the Moose. Eli Fletcher got the scoring started early the first with a goal. The Minnesota Moose tied the game late in the first period and the score was tied 1-1 at the break. The Blizzard took the lead and took control of the game in the second. Reece Hubmer scored the eventual game winning goal early in the second period to put the Blizzard up 2-1. Markus Olson would add on to the lead when he scored just as a powerplay ended to put the Blizzard up 3-1. Neither team was able to capitalize in the third period and the Blizzard picked up the weekend sweep.  Jayden Serene made 26 saves for the Alexandria Blizzard.

The Blizzard are on the road again this coming weekend, facing the Minnesota Moose again Friday night with a 7:05P puck drop and the Willmar WarHawks Saturday with puck drop being 7:10P. Games can be watched on NAHLtv!
