Alexandria penalty kill dominates in 3-1 defeat of Breezy Point

Alexandria\’s penalty kill was superb, as Alexandria survived multiple penalties to beat Breezy Point, 3-1.

Alexandria was sparked by Mason Hautala, who registered one goal. Hautala scored 3:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. Riley Holwegner assisted on the tally.

Others who scored for Alexandria included Jack Cernohous and Aaron Ryback, who scored one goal each. More assists for Alexandria came via Logan Norman and AJ Gullickson, who contributed one each.

Breezy Point was led by Christian Lenzmeier, who scored the team\’s only goal. Lenzmeier scored on the power play 5:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Breezy Point had gained a power play chance when Alec Seeger was whistled for elbowing. Sean Viti picked up the assist.

Alexandria\’s Evan Bisek stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Alexandria incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Wes Paupore rejected 27 shots on goal for Breezy Point. Breezy Point totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Breezy Point ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nik Boyer was ejected from the game.
