Alexandria boosted by Kremer’s play in net, beats Minnesota 5-1

Alexandria pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 20 penalty minutes.

Alexandria stifled Minnesota\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.Alexandria kept Minnesota\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Dakota McDonald made 37 saves on 42 shots.

Alexandria were led by Logan Norman, who had one goal and one assist.Norman scored short handed in the second period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. Dawson Ellingsworth assisted on the tally.Alexandria also got points from Ellingsworth, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Alexandria included Mason Hautala, Aaron Ryback, and Caleb Anderson, who scored one each. More assists for Alexandria came via Alec Seeger, Jack Mellstrom, Louis Gerzin, Logan Nelson, Steven Gustafson, and Jacob Odegard, who contributed one apiece.

Minnesota put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alexandria to score on any of their three power plays.Alexandria were unable to stop Minnesota from sending pucks towards the net, and Minnesota eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Minnesota were led by Alec Skar, who scored the team\’s only goal. Skar scored in the first period to make the score 1-1 . Joe Guimont claimed the first assist on the goal, and Ryan Conybear got the second.

Alexandria incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
