ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – After a loss over the weekend to the Bismarck Bobcats, the Alexandria Blizzard are looking to bounce back Friday at Maysa Arena against the Minot Minotauros.
The Blizzard are returning only seven players from last season making them a relatively inexperienced team, said Head Coach Doc DelCastillo. Between their practices and games the team is learning to work and play together.
“We’re continually getting better on a daily basis,” DelCastillo said. Friday’s game will be the first contact the young team will have with the
Minotauros. Without knowing what to expect, DelCastillo and the Blizzard do know that momentum wins games.
“I don’t know much about Minot. I haven’t been there before and I don’t know that rink or team. It’s all new, but we just need to get the momentum going while on the road and make it a good, winnable hockey game for us,” said DelCastillo.
While being on the road, Blizzard fans can still catch the game during the live viewing party at Bug-A-Boo Bay located at 2800 N. Nokomis. Face-off is at 7:35 p.m.
