BLIZZARD WIN IN OT ON FRIDAY AND EARN WEEKEND SPLIT

Landyn Randt got the Blizzard on the board Friday night at the RCC midway through the 1st period on a play from Waller and Stallman on Pink in the Rink night. The Toros bounced back in the 2nd period with Gibson scoring at the 12:44 mark and Plaga shortly after at 10:41. Kaden Roness had a quick response scoring seconds later on a play from Breiland and Boughton to tie the game at 2-2. The game remained tied through the 3rd period and late into the overtime session Caleb Waller netted the game winner on a PPG from Schmit and Stallman to take the opening game of the weekend. Serene earned the W stopping 25 of 27 shots.

Saturday was Andes Tower Hills night and Blake Breiland scored a PPG midway through the 1st period for the early Blizzard lead on a play from Schmit and Waller. It was all Toros in the middle period as Plaga, Gibson and Bohlman scored for the Toros with the Gibson goal coming short handed. Resch and Gibson would add two more Toro goals to make it 1-5 before Landyn Randt got the Blizzard’s second goal on a powerplay from Breiland and Waller. Toros added their 6th goal of the game in the final minute and took the 6-2 victory and earned the split. Jayden Serene stopped 24 of 30 shots.

Blizzard play again at the RCC this Friday to take on league leading Granite City. Fridays game is Haunted Hockey Night presented by Hampton Inn with the first 50 kids receiving a treat bag. Tickets at https://tickets.alexandriablizzard.com/
