Alexandria tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Metro held on for a 7-6 victory.
Metro took a 7-4 lead during the second period, only to have Alexandria storm back on a Connor Nilson goal 18:30 into the third period to pull to one goal down.
Metro was paced on offense by Mathias Tellstrom and Kevin Shand, who combined for six points. Tellstrom racked up two goals and one assist and Shand also notched one goal and two assists.

Alexandria forced Metro\’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Kameron Limburg made 18 stops and Jacob Gwillim made 11. Alexandria bested its season scoring average. Alexandria has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.
Alexandria was helped by Tony Arias, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Arias scored the first of his two goals at 10:37 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Logan Norman provided the assist. Arias\’ next tally made the score 6-4 Metro with 10:36 left in the second period. Alexandria had gained a power play chance when Boskovic was whistled for interference. Mason Hautala picked up the assist. Alexandria also got points from Logan Nelson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Nilson, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Alexandria included Caleb Anderson and AJ Gullickson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Alexandria came via Aaron Ryback, who had two and Trent Olson and Louis Gerzin, who each chipped in one.
Metro incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brey Effertz made nine saves before being replaced by Chance Kremer, who took the loss and made 11 saves. Alexandria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
