Your Alexandria Blizzard will face off with the Rochester Grizzlies in the first round of the Fraser Cup Playoffs which start Friday for the Blizzard. With Granite City defeating the Blizzard 2-0 Saturday at the RCC, they were able to leapfrog the Grizzlies and take the division title. In Fridays game, both teams were unable to produce any offense until the 3rd period when the Jacks scored at the 1:38 mark on a Miller goal. The Blizzard had some chances especially with a late powerplay which was cut short by a tripping call and Granite City got the insurance goal at the 18:25 mark for the 2-0 victory. Shots on goal were 40 to 35 in favor of Granite with both sides failing to connect on their power play chances.
The 2023-2024 Fraser Cup Playoffs are presented by Vance Thompson Vision in Alexandria with the opening game being Friday in Rochester. Puck drop is at 7:05 for game 1 and the Blizzard will be at the RCC Saturday for game 2 in the best of 3 series. Game time for Saturday is 7:10 with tickets available at https://tickets.alexandriablizzard.com. If necessary, game 3 will be back in Rochester on Sunday with puck drop at 3:05.
